Moravian Karst

'Cause the Moravian Karst at Blansko is not far from Brno, we drove about half and hour to visit the famous stalactic site on May 17th, 2014. It is a Saturday morning. Weather is not bad. We are three this time, B, A & I.

After parking, we knew from the information centre that there are many stalactic caves here. It takes much time to view all, if you want. But our real interests are not in its special geographic landscape, we only pick out the most famous and biggest one to visit: the Punkva Caves. Taking photos needs extra 40 CZK of payment.

Instead of taking a train-shape shuttle bus, we walked for around 20 minutes to get the portal of caves. The weather is nice and walking in the forest is a pretty nice thing!

To visit the stalactic caves, we have to pay for the guidance. But visiting alone is not allowed. I think for such a geographic site easy to hide people, it is a good considering. The visit routine can be roughly separated into two sections. The following photos are taken in the first one:

The guidance is in Czech language so we cannot understand.

Here we finished the first section. The following is a very small gorge, and we can see sunshine and the forest from the higher-ups. Because the moist air, stones gathered much thick moss. We are impossible to get out from here, but it's not the end. The next section is just waiting for us. We took a shuttle boat here.

The small bridge in the left side is where we will have lunch later.

The boating segment is very narrow. In many spots, we have to make our heads very low to pass, or our heads will be jammed and left in the caves. Photo taking is failed during this segment. But the experience is scarce, tranquil and isolated.

The photos following are in the second section:

When completing the whole routine, we took the gondola to the upper side to have lunch. It is not a very wide place. Other than the restaurant, there is also a small souvenir shop. Basically we have finished today's journey. Not bad.
